Rake, along with an expansion program, has been announced by Mrs. Anna S. Bramwell, President of the college. Mr. Rake, a World War II veteran who has been training officer for the Evansville office of the Veterans Adminis-tration serving colleges, high and other schools in a 1'2-county area, has been named Vice Presi-dent of Mrs. Bramwell's School. TO MEET APRIL 30 —MAY I The Central Commercial Teachers' Associ-ation will meet for its 41st annual convention in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on April 30 and May 1 this year. Headquarters will be the Mont-rose Hotel, and convention sessions will take up at noon, Friday, April 30, and end shortly after noon Saturday, May 1. It is believed the Central Commercial Teachers' convention is the only commercial college meeting where the program is exclu-sively designed for the teachers in private business schools. President Brawford has ar-ranged another excellent program with this aim again in mine}. Reservations should be made at the Mont-rose Hotel, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at the earliest possible time. MID-SOUTH TYPISTS ANNOUNCE CONTESTS Saturday morning, May 8, from 9 to 12 o'clock will again find typists and stenogra-phers from a wide area participating in the (Continued on Page Five) OUEEN FOR A YEAR Miss Charlotte Hale, of the Adela Hale School, Hutchinson, Kansas, puts radio's "Queen for a Day" in the shade, for Miss Hale is undisputed "Queen for a Year" — Queen of the Mid-Western Business Schools Association—and a not inconsequential honor that is! Chosen by Miss Francigene Sheridan, Mid-Western Editor of "Charm" Magazine, who ¡addressed one session of the Mid-Western meet in Kansas City, Miss Hale was crowned with appropriate ceremony. In the picture at the bottom of this page, we find, left to right, Miss Sheridan, Miss Hale, 1948 Queen of MBSA, holding the bunny, Claude Stone, King for a Day, Presi-dent Hill's Business University, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Howard J. Gramlich, Agricultural Agent for the Chicago North-western Railway Company, who thinks it's a good idea to feed cabbage to "wabbits." Miss Charlotte Hale is a component of the (Continued on Page Two) GOOD ATTENDANCE IN KANSAS CITY With more than 200 in attendance, the second annual convention of the Mid-Western Business Schools Association, held in Kansas City, Missouri, at Easter time, was pronounced an enminent success. Omaha, Nebraska, will be the locale of the 1949 convention, which is slated to be held April HHjj^HH 14, 15, and 16.
