Dent of Pennsylvania, Chairman of the House Select Subcommittee on Education at the Convention breakfast Friday morning, 8 a.m., November 6, 1964. COME AND HEAR 1\I ...THE MAN WHO lead the move to amend the Manpower Development and Training Act last year to more effectively include participation by private schools in programs of retraining. ...THE MAN WHO was a member of an Ad Hoc Committee in the House of Representatives which considered testimony prior to the passage of the Anti-Poverty Program and the committee which accepted an amendment to the Poverty Program permitting the utilization of private schools for vocational training. ...THE MAN WHO took to the floor of the House during debate before passage of the Vocational Education Act of 1963 and clarified and amplified the "under contract" provisions of the law in discussion with Congres sman Carl D. Perkins (Ky.) sponsor of the measure. ...THE MAN WHO was one of the conferees on S. 3060 which will expand the National Defense Education Act to include loans for students from 35 accredited, non-profit business schools and junior colleges. ...THE MAN WHO has introduced H. R. 10224 which will provide for a system of Federally insured, low cost loans for students in private business schools and technical institutions UBSA is indeed fortunate to have this distinguished legislator share with us his experience, knowledge, and views on recently passed Federal legislation and possible future Federal trends in legislation which may affect students in your schools.
